Throughout the novel Fahrenehit 451 , the term "happiness" is used in many ways; what is happiness and give an example of how it is used along with an explanation with qutoes from the text.
(No grade) Happiness for Montag I believe was knowing that he could learn from books without the possibility of being burned. For Millie on the other hand, happiness for her is knowing what is going on in the entertainment world without gaining any real knowledge from the past.
I agree that " knowing that he could learn from books without the possibility of being burned" (Dohrmann 1) .The reason why is that I believe that people or object shouldn't be abandoned , but given a secound chance. Throughout this novel, Montag changes histhorught about book when he had witnessed many cases where he is told that books are worth alot . For instance the old women . "“There must be something in books, something we can’t imagine, to make a woman stay in a burning house; there must be something there. You don’t stay for nothing " ( bradbury). This quote shows the old lady;s dedication towards her books and after her death Montag now believes that he could learn from books without having them burn.
